So you're going on vacation, wooohooo, Avila Beach here you come!  You've saved, scrimped, and sacrificed other luxuries to properly budget for your well-deserved Central California vacation? Yeah.... us too.  We're planning a trip to Avila Beach area (Pismo Beach and other spots in San Luis Obispo County).   I want to provide the whole family with many fun and exciting experiences that will make for great memories.  But let's face it, California is expensive. And travel for an entire family is EXPENSIVE. Keeping costs in check is important...heck, it's imperative!

To compliment our vacation adventure, I wanted to find fun and free options to incorporate along with the pricier activities.  I'm sharing with you what I found....Enjoy!  If you know of any other free events or attractions in the Avila/ Pismo Beach area, please share them in the comments.

My list (in no particular order)

1. The Beach...duh!
2. Piers (Hartford, Avila, Pismo)
4. Farmers market Avila Fridays and Pismo Wednesdays
5. Hiking trails
7. Art on the beach on the Avila Beach Promenade.

So I didn't want to dismiss activities that could be done if you a) have the equipment and b) have a way to take it on your trip.  Otherwise, these things can be rented.

13. *Bicycling or walking the Bob Jones Trail
14. *Surfing
15. *Fishing

  3. This is winding down, I am very nervous, and I need some support. I would never put that on the group page but just incase anyone thinks for one minute that I am ok! THINK AGAIN! A lot to do, but a lot accomplished. Finally after 2 years of planning, getting input, and searching, researching, it is all coming together like a fine orchestra. Thank you everyone for making this a great success. WHO wants to be the next host/hostess? Shall we draw names?
